Aaaannnnndddd … We’re out!

By Matt Knutson

Unfortunately, my tenure as the Weekender editor has come to an end, and so I must bid thee farewell.

From trick-or-treating at faculty members’ houses to the “Passion of the Christ” to finishing with comic book lore, it has been a great ride, and I hope you enjoyed it.

Effective immediately, I am stepping down and handing over the reigns to Derek Wright, our in-house music buff.

Hopefully, he can continue the legacy bestowed upon the Weekender and take first place in the state next year for college entertainment sections.

This is not a complete farewell. Next semester, I will continue to write for the Northern Star and the Weekender.

Until then, I will be interning at CLTV in Oakbrook as its newest sports intern.

I’m out.

From Marcus Leshock, Assistant Weekender Editor

Adios … sort of.

After five semesters of editing the Weekender, it’s time for me to hang up the entertainment whip.

But, with one year left to finish up a masters thesis film in the communication department, I’ll be back to do what I love most — write about anything entertainment and serve as your loyal movie critic.

Thank you, reader, for all of your positive feedback as well as the negative (we read your Tesla comments!). From covering shows at The House to sitting in a critics screening room next to Roger Ebert — what a long, strange trip it has been.

Next year, Jessica King will be sitting in this chair as the assistant Weekender editor. One can hope she feels as privileged as I have felt for the last five semesters.

You can find me this summer at my other place of business, SolidLine Media, a corporate video production company in Chicago where I work as a producer.

I guess that’s it — until next year.
