Unity in Diversity poster contest seeks visual depiction of theme
March 24, 2004
The Unity in Diversity Steering Committee is sponsoring a poster contest open to all NIU faculty, staff and students.
The poster will be based on this year’s theme, “Unity in Diversity Through Acceptance, Understanding and Respect.”
“What we are looking for is a person who can integrate the theme into a color design,” said Michelle Bringas, Unity in Diversity Steering Committee chair. “We want an overall design that reflects the theme.”
The winner will receive $100 and will be recognized April 21 at the Unity in Diversity spring awards ceremony. Second and third place winners will receive $75 and $50, respectively.
“The winning poster will be professionally printed, mounted and framed through ITS Document Services,” Bringas said. “It will be displayed in the Holmes Student Center’s cafe poster gallery, and the [winner’s] name will also be engraved on a plaque.”
Bringas said up to 1,000 copies of the winning poster will be printed and displayed around campus.
The deadline to submit posters is April 16. Posters must be in an electronic format and turned in with a printed copy or hand-drawn version of the design.
