University Resources for Latinos and the Latino Law Student Association are co-sponsoring an event called “The Undocumented: What are the Options?” at 3 p.m. today at University Resources for Latinos, 515 Garden Road.

Guest speakers Sarah O’Connor and William Schiller are scheduled to speak about recent immigration laws and policies being passed. Both O’Connor and Schiller are attorneys who specialize in immigration law.

Sylvia Fuentes, director for the University Resources for Latinos, said the main goal of the event is to promote awareness in the community.

Fuentes said she thinks students and community members need to know what laws and policies are being passed.

“[The event] provides accurate information, which I feel we desperately need on this campus,” Fuentes said.

Fuentes said the event will be videotaped and made available as an educational tool for instructors.
