Eurotrip

By Chaz Wilke

If one was to summarize “Eurotrip” in one word, it would be “penis.” Lots of penis.

Let’s backtrack to view the semblance of a storyline in “Eurotrip.”

Scott Thomas (Scott Mechlowicz) is a perpetually predictable recent high school graduate who was just dumped by his cheating girlfriend.

-To prove his spontaneity, he opts to fly to Europe to meet with his recently discovered female pen pal.

This sets in motion the most inanely predictable romp through Europe the American movie-going public will ever see.

On the flight overseas, Scott’s buddy Cooper (Jacob Pitts) gives his dissertation on how America was founded by prudes that fled from Europe’s orgy-infested lifestyle.

Upon arriving at their destination, any form of sex is scarce. So once they find a nude beach, the boys jump at the chance of witnessing some nudity. And oh, the nudity.

Or rather, the penis. Asian penis, white penis, sunburnt penis, the occasional uncircumcised penis. All of which are projected a good two to three feet.

There are nude ladies abound, but the wide shot of many nude men running toward the camera far overshadows the occasional areola.

During their trip, the two guys meet up with the twins, Burt and Jenny. Jenny is played by Michelle Trachtenberg, who is best known for her role as Mona on Nickelodeon’s “Pete and Pete.”

The storyline only aids the occasional running gags, but to the movie’s credit, most are paid off. But the characters beside Scott never are developed, let alone fully introduced.

The jokes are all low-brow and always reach for the lowest common denominator. All are full of general homophobic humor, and no European country is left out of the comedic crossfire.

The only saving grace of this movie is current “Saturday Night Live” feature player Fred Armisen. He plays a creepy Italian guy and steals each of his scenes.

This movie is worthy of a rental — but is as only successful as Euro-Disney.
