Part of the system

Recruiters from one of the nation’s largest public school systems will be on campus to talk to students about employment opportunities.
Chicago Public School recruiters will meet with interested students at 6 p.m. today at Lincoln Hall’s A/B Lounge.
The representatives will talk about teaching and fellowship opportunities, as well as about career benefits of the Chicago Public Schools, said Margee Myles, director of advising and student services for NIU’s College of Education.
Bringing in CPS recruiters has been something senior psychology major Todd Madsen has wanted to do.
Madsen, a teach house leader for Lincoln Hall C-5, said he wanted to bring in the recruiters partly for his teach house project, but also because he saw it as an opportunity for students to learn about a large school district.
Madsen said he is interested in learning more about the summer fellowship opportunity, which would allow him to learn more about the schools and the city of Chicago.
“It’s a good way to find out not only what it’s like in CPS, but anywhere,” Madsen said.
