CAB sets up trip to Bowling Green for Saturday’s Huskies football game
October 20, 2003
Huskies fans can take their school spirit to Bowling Green this weekend, courtesy of a bus trip provided by Campus Activities Board.
Tickets are available in the CAB office from 8:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. and are $20 for NIU students with a student ID, and $58 for non-NIU students. There is room for 45 people to attend.
Buses will depart at 7:30 a.m. Saturday from the east side of Huskie Stadium and will return between 12:30 and 1 a.m.
Tickets are non-refundable. If unable to attend, contact the CAB office ASAP so a substitute can be found.
“This is our best year ever with football,” said Mike Runestad, travel coordinator for CAB and Northern Star staff reporter. “Since a lot of students went voluntarily to Alabama, we thought with Bowling Green being ranked between 23 and 26, that it would be an important game.”
Student support also is important to the team.
“We were very happy to do this bus trip because the students are a big part of the game atmosphere,” said Tekla Martin, director of athletic development. “If you talk to any of the football players, they’d say that the fans in the stands intensify their games.”
