The Convocation Center will host the hit musical “Grease” on Tuesday night. “I encourage all to come and see the show because it appeals not only to the theater-going person, but it appeals to fans of the ’50s and anyone who loves the show ‘Grease,'” said Convo Center Marketing Manager Joe Coots.

Coots said that they are expecting a good turnout and there are still plenty of great seats available.

NIU students will receive a $5 discount if they purchase tickets at the Convo Center box office. Group discounts also are available for groups of 20 or more.

This is the first theatrical performance the Convo Center will host.

“We plan on bringing two to four theatrical acts to the Convo Center each year,” Coots said.

The event will feature a pre-show dance competition.

Coots said that 15 minutes before the show starts, anyone who wants to showcase their dancing skills will have the opportunity.

“Grease” characters Vince Fontaine and WIFR weatherman Aaron Wilson will host the contest.
