In a sudden move by her management company, Grammy Award winner Eve will not perform with music artist Ja Rule at the Convocation Center next month.

Joe Coots, marketing manager for the Convo Center, said he received word of the change Thursday morning.

“Her management [company] decided that they were going to pull her out of some dates and that’s all we know,” Coots said.

Coots said Eve’s management company did not comment on why she was dropping several performance dates.

“This happens occasionally with artists like this with popularity,” he said.

Coots said that Eve dropped a majority of her performances that were scheduled with Ja Rule.

Fans who purchased tickets with Eve’s name appearing on them will have the option for a refund. Fans must bring their tickets by 5 p.m. Tuesday to the Convo Center box office, located at 1525 W. Lincoln Highway.

Convo Center staff member’s hope to announce a replacement for Eve by next week.

“It’s unfortunate that Eve has dropped from the bill, but we are actively pursing a list of names to hopefully fill the bill next week,” Coots said.
