RHA brings hypnotic entertainment
December 4, 2002
Is all of the studying driving you crazy? Do you need some fun and laughs? Let go, have some fun and let yourself be hypnotized.
The Residence Hall Association and Campus Activities Board have joined forces to bring master hypnotist Jim Wand to campus today.
He will perform a free show from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holmes Student Center’s Carl Sandburg Auditorium.
“Jim Wand is a hypnotist and a motivational speaker who entertains crowds by hypnotizing volunteers from the audience,” said Andrea Baker, RHA programming vice president.
“He gives suggestions to volunteers to do crazy things like sing and dance,” she said.
This will be Wand’s second time at NIU. The last time he was here was during New Student Welcome Days in 1999.
“[RHA] went to a conference this summer and saw him perform live,” Baker said. “We like to have big programs on campus, and we thought it will be awesome to have him here.”
Students are encouraged to come to the event to relax, have fun and get motivated before finals.
“Students should come check out Jim Wand because he can hypnotize you and make you do things you would never imagine,” RHA President Alex Underwood said. “Watching people do crazy things is hilarious.”
He said everyone should come out because it’s going to be one of the best RHA events of the semester.
