County COVID-19 cases rise to 78

DeKALB — A day after DeKalb County reported no increased COVID-19 cases, the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 78 Monday, according to the DeKalb County Health Department.
Among those who have tested positive for the coronavirus, three people are younger than 19, 19 are in their 20s, 16 are in their 30s, 16 are in their 40s, 14 are in their 50s, four are in their 60s and six are in their 70s.
As of Tuesday, one person in their 50s in the county has died from the coronavirus, according to the DCHD website.
Statewide there are 45,883 positive cases of COVID-19, and there are 1,983 reported deaths as of 1:16 p.m., according to the Illinois Department of Public Health website.
Cook County has 13,271 positive cases of COVID-19. This is the highest number in a county statewide, according to the IDPH statistics website.
