County COVID-19 cases rise to 653

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 653. 

Among those who have tested positive for the coronavirus, 65 are younger than 19, 158 are in their 20s, 109 are in their 30s, 94 are in their 40s, 85 are in their 50s, 43 are in their 60s, 43 are in their 70s, and 56 are 80 or older. 

As of Friday, 20 people have died from the coronavirus in the country according to the DCHD.

Among those who died in the county, one was in their 40s, three were in their 50s, two were in their 60s, two were in their 70s and 12 were 80 or older. 

Three staff members from DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road, have tested positive for the coronavirus. At Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center, 1212 S. Second St., 25 staff members and 55 residents have tested positive; as of Friday, 12 Pine Acres residents have died from COVID-19. 

Two staff members from Bethany Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 3298 Resource Parkway, have tested positive for COVID-19. Twelve staff members and 24 residents tested positive at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion, 515 North Main St; as of Friday, one resident has died from COVID-19. 

Statewide, there are 152,962 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 7,168 reported deaths, as of 8:21 p.m. Saturday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health
