DeKalb County COVID-19 cases top 700 this week

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 714. 

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 74 are younger than 19, 174 are in their 20s, 121 are in their 30s, 98 are in their 40s, 91 are in their 50s, 49 are in their 60s, 50 are in their 70s and 57 are 80 or older. 

As of Friday, 23 people have died from the coronavirus in the county according to the DCHD

At Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center, 1212 S. Second St., 25 staff members and 55 residents have tested positive; as of Friday, 12 Pine Acres residents have died from COVID-19. 

Twenty staff members and 30 residents tested positive at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion, 515 North Main St. As of Thursday, four Willow Crest residents have died from COVID-19. 

Statewide, there are 160,610 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 7,290 reported deaths, as of 8:23 p.m. Saturday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health
