County COVID-19 cases rise to 1,463

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 1,463.
The DCHD also announced the county is no longer at the COVID-19 warning level Friday, according to a Friday newsletter.
Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 222 are younger than 19, 444 are in their 20s, 207 are in their 30s, 179 are in their 40s, 166 are in their 50s, 94 are in their 60s, 68 are in their 70s and 83 are 80 or older.
As of Friday, 38 people have died from the coronavirus in the county; among those, one infant under one years old was reported as the youngest person to die from COVID-19 in the county, according to the DCHD.
At Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion, 515 N. Main St., 25 staff members and 40 residents tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, 13 Willow Crest residents have died from COVID-19.
At DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road., six staff members and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19.
At Oak Crest-DeKalb Area Retirement Center, 2944 Greenwood Acres Drive, two staff members and four residents are now COVID-19 positive.
Statewide, there are 274,258 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 8,450 recorded deaths as of 8:57 p.m. Sunday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
