The DeKalb County Health Department announced 10 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the total number to 8,662.

DeKALB — NIU announced Thursday four additional students and one employee have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Thursday, 61 students and 6 employees are currently positive for COVID-19.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing stats show a total of 290 community members have tested positive for COVID-19, and 223 have recovered.

As of Thursday at 3:00 p.m., NIU is at 26.30% quarantine and isolation use, according to the dashboard. This is a 0.9% increase from Wednesday.

COVID-19 Screening Checklist

NIU announced Wednesday the COVID-19 Helpline has been replaced by an online checklist. Students, faculty or staff who test positive, are exposed to or experience COVID-19 symptoms are required to complete the checklist. Additional guidance will be given via email upon completion of the checklist.
