County cases rise to 2,728

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 2,728.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 468 are younger than 19, 771 are in their 20s, 380 are in their 30s, 380 are in their 40s, 330 are in their 50s, 177 are in their 60s,  113 are in their 70s and 109 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 43 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

At DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road., 13 staff members and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Oak Crest-DeKalb Area Retirement Center, 2944 Greenwood Acres Drive, seven staff members and six residents are COVID-19 positive. As of Friday, one Oak Crest resident has died from COVID-19.

At Prarie Crossing Living & Rehabilitation Center, 409 W. Comanche Ave., three staff members and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Bethany Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, 3298 Resource Parkway, two staff members and no residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Pine Acres Rehabilitation & Living Center, 1212 S. Second St., one staff member and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19.

Statewide, there are 402,401 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 9,711 recorded deaths as of 5:00 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
