7 more students, 2 employees test positive for COVID-19

DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that seven additional students and two employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and 11 students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 48 students and 12 employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 455 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 395 have recovered.

As of  Monday at 3:20 p.m., NIU is at 14.1%  quarantine and isolation use, this is a 1.8% increase from Friday.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 707 COVID-19 tests during the week of Nov. 6 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 1.6%, with 11 recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
