County cases rise to 5,458

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 5,458.
Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 915 are younger than 19, 1,308 are in their 20s, 782 are in their 30s, 803 are in their 40s, 715 are in their 50s, 465 are in their 60s, 247 are in their 70s and 223 are 80 or older.
As of Friday, 48 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.
At DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road., 27 staff members and three residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
At Oak Crest-DeKalb Area Retirement Center, 2944 Greenwood Acres Drive, 22 staff members and 25 residents are COVID-19 positive. As of Friday, one Oak Crest resident has died from COVID-19.
At Prarie Crossing Living & Rehabilitation Center, 409 W. Comanche Ave., 15 staff members and 35 residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
At Bethany Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, 3298 Resource Parkway, 26 staff members and 17 residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
At Pine Acres Rehabilitation & Living Center, 1212 S. Second St., one staff member and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19.
At Heritage Woods of DeKalb, 2626 N. Annie Glidden Road, five staff members and two residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
Statewide, there are 770,088 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 12,974 recorded deaths as of 5:00 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
