Huskies look to return to .500 against Ohio University

DeKALB — The women’s basketball team looks to put itself on a winning streak again after a loss Sunday against the Bradley University Braves that put its overall record at 2-3 on the season.
NIU will play the Ohio University Bobcats 6 p.m. Wednesday at the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb.
The Huskies were leading the Braves 38-30 at halftime, but shot under 30% from the field in the second half. The Braves came back for a 79-71 win.
Offense was a struggle for the Huskies, as they were just 5-for-18 from the field in the last quarter and went 1-for-9 from the 3-point line.
Sophomore guard Chelby Koker was NIU’s top contributor, finishing with 14 points, nine rebounds and a career-high seven assists and six steals.
Ohio is 2-1 on the season. They won their first two games against the Liberty University Flames, 76-72, and the University Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 86-85. However, they lost their next game 84-80 against the Kent State University Golden Flashes.
Senior guard Cece Hooks and redshirt junior guard Erica Johnson lead the Bobcats with the most points, rebounds and assists this season in their first three games.
Hooks has the highest amount of points and rebounds for the team with 32 points with the win against Notre Dame and nine rebounds with the loss against Kent State. Johnson has the highest amount of assists for the team with five assists in two games against Notre Dame and Kent State.
