County cases rise to 6,473

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 6,473.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,056 are younger than 19, 1,534 are in their 20s, 946 are in their 30s, 946 are in their 40s, 841 are in their 50s, 561 are in their 60s, 304 are in their 70s and 285 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 71 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

At DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road., 30 staff members and three residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Oak Crest-DeKalb Area Retirement Center, 2944 Greenwood Acres Drive, 25 staff members and 27 residents are COVID-19 positive. As of Friday, one Oak Crest resident has died from COVID-19.

At Prarie Crossing Living & Rehabilitation Center, 409 W. Comanche Ave., 33 staff members and 54 residents have tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, three Prarie Crossing residents have died from COVID-19.

At Bethany Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, 3298 Resource Parkway, 39 staff members and 47 residents have tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, three residents have died from COVID-19.

At Heritage Woods of DeKalb, 2626 N. Annie Glidden Road, five staff members and two residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Lincolnshire Place, 710 Villagio Drive, 16 staff members and 30 residents have tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, five residents have died from COVID-19.

At Sandwich Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, 902 E. Arnold St., three staff members and one resident have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Willow Crest Nursing Pavillon, 515 N. Main St., two staff members and three residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center, 1212 S. 2nd St., four staff members and three residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

Statewide, there are 930,849 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 15,799 recorded deaths as of 5:00 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
