County cases rise to 6,768

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 6,768.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,098 are younger than 19, 1,597 are in their 20s, 1,002 are in their 30s, 981 are in their 40s, 876 are in their 50s, 581 are in their 60s, 329 are in their 70s and 304 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 78 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

At DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 2600 N. Annie Glidden Road., 31 staff members and three residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Oak Crest-DeKalb Area Retirement Center, 2944 Greenwood Acres Drive, 26 staff members and 28 residents are COVID-19 positive. As of Friday, one Oak Crest resident has died from COVID-19.

At Prarie Crossing Living & Rehabilitation Center, 409 W. Comanche Ave., 34 staff members and 54 residents have tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, five Prarie Crossing residents have died from COVID-19.

At Bethany Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, 3298 Resource Parkway, 41 staff members and 61 residents have tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, six residents have died from COVID-19.

At Lincolnshire Place, 710 Villagio Drive, 17 staff members and 30 residents have tested positive for COVID-19. As of Friday, five residents have died from COVID-19.

At Willow Crest Nursing Pavillon, 515 N. Main St., two staff members and three residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

At Pine Acres Rehab and Living Center, 1212 S. 2nd St., four staff members and five residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

Statewide, there are 963,389 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 16,490 recorded deaths as of 5:00 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
