Two more students and no employees test positive for COVID-19.

DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that eight additional students and two employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and nine students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 30 students and six employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 702 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 666 have recovered.

As of Monday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 4.9% quarantine and isolation use, a 1.8% increase from Friday.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 1,508 COVID-19 tests during the week of Jan. 25 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 0.5%, with eight recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
