The Super Bowl is the annual championship game between the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference that determines who wins it all in the NFL. This event is one of the biggest single day sporting events in the world, drawing high television rates each year.

Parties and gatherings are the most common way to watch the Super Bowl. Food is a top priority for these parties with special recipes prepared to feed so many people. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the amount of people allowed at a party significantly decreases. Although the size of parties decreased, there are still many ways to make special recipes for a small gathering of people.

One food that is a Super Bowl favorite is chili. The recipe for chili is one that can be decreased from a huge party size recipe to one that feeds a small gathering of people.

Another food that is very common to eat during the Super Bowl is wings. An easy wings recipe can be altered to serve enough people for a small gathering, or enough people for a whole party.

CLASSIC BUFFALO WINGS

Start to finish: 1 hr 20 min

Servings: 4

2 lb. chicken wings

2 tbsp. Vegetable oil

1 tsp. garlic powder

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

1/4 c. hot sauce (such as Frank’s)

2 tbsp. honey

4 tbsp. butter

Ranch dressing, for serving

Carrot sticks, for serving

Celery sticks, for serving

To begin cooking the Classic Buffalo Wings, preheat the oven to 400° F and place a wire rack over a baking sheet. Toss the wings in a bowl with garlic powder, salt, and other other seasonings that want to be added. Transfer these wings to the baking sheet.

Put the wings into the oven for 50 to 60 minutes and flip them halfway through.

Mix the hot sauce and honey into a saucepan. Add the butter once this simmers. Cook until butter is melted for about 2 minutes. Heat a broiler on low. Then transfer baked wings into a bowl and toss with buffalo sauce until they are completely coated. Return the wings to the rack and broil them for about 3 minutes until the sauce caramelizes.
