DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that six additional students and one employee has tested positive for the coronavirus, and nine students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 17 students and five employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 786 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 764 have recovered.

As of Monday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 1.2% quarantine and isolation use, this is a 1.3% decrease from Friday.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 2,093 COVID-19 tests during the week of Feb. 22 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 0.14%, with three recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
