Outdoor Adventures is hosting a kayak pool workshop from 1-3 p.m. March 7 at Huntley Middle School, located at 1515 S. 4th Street. Registration costs $25, and the deadline to register is March 6; spaces are limited.

During the workshop, participants will be taught about numerous kayaking skills such as boat care, rescue techniques, paddle strokes and many more. Equipment and instruction with an experienced instructor is included with the registration fee. Masks are required to wear before entering the pool. To register, visit the DeKalb Park District’s website

“There’s no training like this anywhere near this level, or as close to DeKalb,” Dan Dunne, graduate assistant for Outdoor Adventures, said. “It’s really cool because you learn a lot in a really short time, and it’s high quality training.”
