DeKALB — More Illinois residents are beginning to fulfill the requirements needed to receive the vaccine.
March 22 allowed for higher education staff, government workers and media to receive the vaccine as part of phase 1B plus. March 29 begins phase 1C, which allows restaurant staff, construction trade leaders and religious leaders. April 12 allows every resident of 16 years of age or older, according to the State of Illinois Coronavirus Response website.
Illinois has received six million vaccination doses, but only four million Illinois residents have been vaccinated at this time with 11 thousand residents of DeKalb County being fully vaccinated, according to the Illinois Department of Health website.
DeKalb County has a vaccine inventory of 3,810. The county distributes on average 479 doses over a 7-day period. The entire state of Illinois distributes on average 91,000 vaccines over a 7-day period, according to the Illinois Department of Health website.
