DeKALB — NIU announced Monday that seven additional students and one employee have tested positive for the coronavirus, and two students and no employees have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Monday, 31 students and two employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 852 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 819 have recovered.

As of Monday at 3 p.m., NIU is at an 8% quarantine and isolation use, a 1.3% increase from Friday.

Surveillance testing 

NIU administered 1,987 COVID-19 tests during the week of March 29 for surveillance testing. The positivity rate was 1%, with 20 recorded positive results, according to surveillance testing data.

Surveillance testing data is updated on the dashboard website every Monday, or on a Tuesday if a holiday falls on a Monday.
