Tails pet of the week: Wynona Jean

By Elisa Reamer

DeKALB – The Tails Humane Society’s Pet of the Week for April 5 is a 4-year-old large mixed breed dog. Wynona Jean is a playful female looking for a less stressful environment than her current home at Tails Humane Society.

Wynona Jean is getting treated for a non-contagious disease, heartworm. When adopted, her new family will not have to worry as Tails Humane Society will cover the cost of the treatment.

Wynona Jean is house trained and is great with people of all ages. She is comfortable with other dogs, but will not do well with cats or chickens as they will not play the same way as a dog would, according to her description on their website.

Wynona Jean loves snuggles, scratches and chew bones. She has a good amount of energy for her age, said Nancy Rigler, a volunteer at Tails Humane Society.

If interested in adopting Wynona Jean, Tails Humane Society, 2250 Barber Greene Road, is open for walk-ins from noon to 7 p.m. weekdays and noon to 5:30 p.m on weekends.
