Monday

  • Take and Make: CAB Custom Puzzle: Students have a chance to pick a custom NIU CAB puzzle from the CAB office in the Holmes Student Center from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Resume Q &A: Career Services will host a virtual resume writing workshop at 11 a.m. for students who are creating their first resume or updating their resume. Contact Edward Heard at edwardheard@niu.edu for more information.
  • Internships 101 – Part 2: Career Services will host a workshop on how to look for an internship at noon. Registration is required. Contact careerservices@niu.edu for more information.
  • Supporting Students Starts with You: This virtual training at 1 p.m. will cover topics such as sexual assault in honor of Sexual Assualt Awareness Month. These topics may be triggering for some. Contact ahurlburt@niu.edu for more information.
  • NIU Percussion Ensemble Spring 2021 Concert: Each semester the percussion students carefully cultivate the highest level of chamber music preparation.   • Resume Writing – The Essentials: Career Services will host a virtual resume writing workshop at 10 a.m. for students who are creating their first resume or updating their resume. Contact careerservices@niu.edu for more information.
  • Donors, Government Grants, and Nonprofit Performance: The Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies will host a presentation by Dr. Jason Coupet, associate professor at North Carolina State University. Registration for the virtual event at noon is required.
  • Hospitality 320 “Ellington’s” served at The Depot: Campus Dining Services will serve shredded BBQ chicken or pulled BBQ pork served with bacon baked beans and homemade mac n’ cheese for $7.99 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Depot C-store in the Holmes Student Center.
  • Finding Forward: Counseling and Consultation Services will host a virtual workshop at 1 p.m. for anyone wanting to boost their resilience to respond to life demands and COVID-19 stress. Contact Giselle Navarro at gnavarro5@niu.edu for more information.
  • Huskies Get Hired Tips and Tricks: Career Services will host a Huskies Get Hired workshop to help students find job openings at 1 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. Contact careerservices@niu.edu for more information.
  • Active Bystander Workshop: The center of Academic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will host a workshop at 2 p.m. to encourages students to engage in healthy campus culture surrounding violence and sexual misconduct.   • Outdoor Adventures Lagoon Hourly Boat Rentals: Outdoor Adventures will offer hourly boat rentals at the East Lagoon from 4 to 6 p.m. Students can sign up for $5 an hour for a rental time starting on the hour and select canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard.   • STEM Café — Trash Talk: Rethinking Recycling: Courtney Gallaher, associate professor, will lead a discussion about how we consume products, types of materials they are made from, and the environmental and social justice implications of our recycling industry.   • Song Kran – Thai New Year – Celebration: Join students and Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (Thailand) from NIU, UW – Madison, and the University of Washington for an evening of celebration at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
