County cases rise to 9,114

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 9,114.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,539 are younger than 19, 2,161 are in their 20s, 1,375 are in their 30s, 1,283 are in their 40s, 1,141 are in their 50s, 782 are in their 60s, 436 are in their 70s and 397 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 115 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

DeKalb County has administered 47,518 vaccines as of Friday, and 16,720 county residents are fully vaccinated, 16% of the county population, according to state vaccine data.

Statewide, there are 1.2 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 21,476 recorded deaths as of 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The state has fully vaccinated 2.6 million residents as of Friday, 20.9% of the state population.
