DeKALB – The Tails Humane Society’s Pet of the week for April 12 is a 4-year-old domestic shorthair/mix cat named Petra.

Petra is a loving cat whose sweet chirps and low purrs can be heard in full effect during head rubs. This is good news, as her gorgeous black, orange and white coat is very soft, according to her description on Tails’ website.

When not getting loved, she is quiet and enjoys her cat tower and wet snacks. She is not a fan of loud noises, which can sometimes make her a little shy at the shelter. However, she is great with other cats.

Petra will be a wonderful companion. If interested in adopting, Tails Humane Society, 2250 Barber Greene Road, is open for walk-ins from noon to 7 p.m. weekdays and noon to 5:30 p.m. on weekends.
