DeKALB — NIU announced Wednesday that 23 students and no employees have tested positive for the coronavirus, and two students have recovered, according to the Campus COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Wednesday, 65 students and two employees are currently COVID-19 positive.

Wednesday’s numbers are the highest amount of COVID-19 cases the university has seen the entire semester. The first week of the semester, 15 students tested positive, according to the dashboard.

The dashboard’s cumulative testing statistics show a total of 923 Huskies that have tested positive for COVID-19, and 856 have recovered.

As of Wednesday at 3 p.m., NIU is at a 14.7% quarantine and isolation use, a 6.7% increase from Tuesday.
