DeKALB – The DeKalb County Health Department is offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics starting Thursday.

Melissa Edwards, health promotion and emergency preparedness coordinator, said in a Wednesday email that the county has seen a decline in the number of registration appointments in the last week.

She said the health department is hoping walk-in clinics will allow for more flexibility for those who would like to receive a vaccine. Appointments are still an option for those who want to make sure they have a set time.

COVID-19 vaccine clinics are being offered at the following dates for those who live or work in DeKalb County and a photo ID is required:

  • Thursday, April 29: NIU Convocation Center Johnson & Johnson Clinic from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Thursday, April 29: Sandwich High School, 515 Lions Road in Sandwich, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson from 2 to 3:45 p.m.
  • Monday, May 3: NIU Convocation Center Moderna Clinic from 9 to 1 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 4: NIU Convocation Center Moderna Clinic from noon to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 6: NIU Convocation Center Moderna Clinic from 3 to 7 p.m.
