County cases rise to 10,201

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 10,201.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,836 are younger than 19, 2,488 are in their 20s, 1,534 are in their 30s, 1,389 are in their 40s, 1,255 are in their 50s, 842 are in their 60s, 447 are in their 70s and 410 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 119 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

DeKalb County has administered 76,084 vaccines as of Friday, and 34,088 county residents are fully vaccinated, 32.8% of the county population, according to state vaccine data.

Statewide, there are 1.3 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 22,556 recorded deaths as of 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The state has fully vaccinated 4.9 million residents as of Friday, 39% of the state population.
