County cases rise to 10,329

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 10,329
Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,871 are younger than 19, 2,529 are in their 20s, 1,546 are in their 30s, 1,400 are in their 40s, 1,268are in their 50s, 850 are in their 60s, 453 are in their 70s and 412 are 80 or older.
As of Friday, 120 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.
DeKalb County has administered 84,252 vaccines as of Friday, and 40,128 county residents are fully vaccinated, 38.5% of the county population, according to state vaccine data.
Statewide, there are 1.3 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 23,035 recorded deaths as of 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The state has fully vaccinated 5.7 million residents as of Friday, 44.7% of the state population.
