DeKalb County reports 42.6% residents are vaccinated

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 10,429 and 44,345 county residents are fully vaccinated.
Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,888 are younger than 19, 2,557 are in their 20s, 1,569 are in their 30s, 1,411 are in their 40s, 1,277 are in their 50s, 855 are in their 60s, 457 are in their 70s and 415 are 80 or older.
As of Friday, 120 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.
DeKalb County has administered 90,989 vaccines as of Friday, and 44,345 county residents are fully vaccinated, 42.6% of the county population, according to state vaccine data.
Statewide, there are 1.3 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 23,357 recorded deaths as of 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The state has fully vaccinated 6.3 million residents as of Friday, 49.7% of the state population.
