DeKalb County reports 45.2% of population is vaccinated

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 10,785 and 47,026 county residents are fully vaccinated.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 1,967 are younger than 19, 2,649 are in their 20s, 1,627 are in their 30s, 1,458 are in their 40s, 1,314 are in their 50s, 875 are in their 60s, 467 are in their 70s and 428 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 122 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

DeKalb County has administered 94,926 vaccines as of Friday, and 47,026 county residents are fully vaccinated, 45.2% of the county population, according to state vaccine data.

Statewide, there are 1.5 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 23,594 recorded deaths as of 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The state has fully vaccinated 6.6 million residents as of Friday, 60.3% of the state population.
