Jesse McCartney to perform in DeKalb after postponing shows
October 14, 2021
DeKALB — Jesse McCartney was set to play 22 shows for The “New Stage” Tour starting Nov. 4 but has announced on social media that some tour dates have been postponed until Spring 2022 due to COVID-19. His show at 8 p.m. on Nov. 11 at the Egyptian Theatre has not been affected.
McCartney posted an announcement on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter that he and his team decided to postpone his tour that would accompany his newest album “New Stage” due to the severity of the COVID-19 Delta variant.
Despite this announcement, McCartney will continue with playing his show at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St.
“So, what we’ve been told is he’s canceling some different locations because of COVID,” said Jeanine Holcomb, Egyptian Theatre communications and marketing director. “We haven’t got any clarification as to why he’s canceled some shows, but our show is still happening and is on as scheduled.”
Attendees are asked to wear a mask while inside the venue regardless of vaccination status.
Even for the locations that are postponed until 2022, McCartney encourages people to keep their tickets and for those who haven’t bought a ticket yet to do so. He will be adding even more cities to the new dates, according to the Oct.14 social media post.
Tickets are still on sale for the Nov. 11 date on the Egyptian Theatre website.
