The Chicago Bulls are coming into the 2021-2022 NBA season with the highest expectations they’ve had since Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler were on the team. 

The Bulls will kick off their season against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. With all of the acquisitions and moves that the Bulls franchise have made the past few seasons — including this summer, there is a lot of hype riding on this upcoming season. 

The Bulls have now gone from a rebuilding team to an expected playoff team who could be a sleeper team that could pose a threat to top teams in the Eastern Conference such as the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers once the playoffs come around. 

This is what Bulls fans have been waiting for almost a half decade now. Expect to see an uprising of energy whenever a home game is played in the United Center. The new look  Bulls seems to be the most exciting team that fans have been able to watch since the Derrick Rose era Bulls teams. 

The team has now acquired a big four in guard Zach Lavine, forward Nikola Vucevic, guard Lonzo Ball and guard Demar DeRozan. They will be the key to the success that this team is capable of having. Role players like newly acquired guard Alex Caruso through free agency and guard Ayo Dosunmu will play a key part as well in taking some of the pressure off of the stars on the team. 

With so many new players on this team, there will be some growing pains early on as they will try to figure out their play style with one another and their roles. That is to be expected, but when this team finally hits their stride and figures out who they are as a team, fans should be on the lookout for this Chicago Bulls to make a lot of Noise throughout the league. 

The Bulls have already begun to build chemistry, winning each of their first three preseason games, two of which were blowouts. The Bulls beat the Cleveland Cavaliers with a final score 131-95 on Oct. 5, the New Orleans Pelicans 121-85 on Oct. 8 and the Cavaliers again 102-101 on Oct 10. 

The Bulls have missed the playoffs five times out of the past six seasons, including the last four seasons in a row. It has been a while since the Bulls have had a playoff-caliber team. It has taken front office changes, multiple head coaches, trades, draft picks and more to reach this point. 

All of that has led to a new era of Bulls basketball that looks to be the future and not just for the moment. The core of this team hopes to last for a while and compete for championships for years.
