DeKALB — The City of Dekalb’s Annual Loose-Leaf collection will start Oct. 25 and will continue through Dec. 3, according to a Monday City of DeKalb news release.

City officials will be sending vacuum trucks Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for pick-ups. Any unwanted leaves must be free of debris and placed in a parallel row on the backside of the curb. The crews will start on the south half of DeKalb, working north towards Lincoln Highway.

The city anticipates only three to four collection cycles will be needed for pick-ups. Lakeshore Recycling will also pick up leaves curbside on regularly scheduled garbage days.

The final collection cycle will start on Nov. 29. All dates are subject to change based on weather conditions, particularly snow, and other factors outside of the city’s control.

Collection trucks will not be sent on Nov. 11, Nov. 25 and Nov. 26, while DeKalb’s offices are closed for holidays.
