DeKalb County reports 50.09% of residents are vaccinated

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 12,792 and 52,165 county residents are fully vaccinated, 50.09% of the county population.

Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 2,587 are younger than 19, 3,027 are in their 20s, 1,950 are in their 30s, 1,693 are in their 40s, 1,519 are in their 50s, 1,040 are in their 60s, 527 are in their 70s and 449 are 80 or older.

As of Friday, 134 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.

Statewide, there are 1.7 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 25,948 recorded deaths as of Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The state has fully vaccinated 7.6 million residents as of Friday, 70.8% of the state population.
