Monday

  • Mexican Sweet bread and Hot Chocolate Sale: This event we will sell Mexican sweet bread and hot chocolate on campus at 10:30 a.m. in DuSable Hall. 
  • Huskies, Get Hired!: Master the Huskies Get Hired (HGH) online system to find openings for on campus employment, off campus part-time jobs, internships, and jobs for after college. This event will be at 11 a.m. via Microsoft Teams.
  • Dancing with the Deltas: Students have the opportunity to learn five hip hop routines. The event will be at 7:13 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center. 

Tuesday

  • Resume Lab: New to resume writing? Come to the Resume Lab workshop. This will be at 11 a.m. in the Founders Memorial Library, Room 297.
  • Transforming Local Neighborhoods – Real Talk & Big Ideas Series: This session is part of the Real Talk & Big Ideas 21-22 Series hosted by the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies at NIU. The session will be at noon on Zoom, register here.
  • Study Abroad 101: A study abroad adviser will provide a short presentation on general information about studying abroad. This will be at 3:30 p.m. in Williston Hall 417.

Wednesday

  • Womanist Wednesdays: Womanist Wednesdays are interactive tabling sessions that highlight topics related to gender identity, intersectionality and current events. The event will be at 1 p.m. in the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center, Conference Room.
  • Navigating the Holidays: As the holidays approach, join a discussion about balance, boundaries and approaches to managing health, wellness and social needs. This virtual event will be at 2 p.m., register here. Contact Karen Smith at [email protected] for more information.
  • Perfecting your Elevator Pitch- How to communicate your Research to a wide audience: In this workshop, students will learn what goes into making an elevator pitch for their research and have a chance to craft their own pitch. This event will be at 3 p.m. in the Campus Life Building, Room 100.
  • Campus Safety Panel: This is an opportunity for students to get their questions answered and voice their concerns. The event will be at 7 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Carl Sandburg Auditorium.

Thursday

  • Veterans Day Flagpole Ceremony: Northern Illinois University and Military and Veteran Services welcomes all Huskies and community members to honor all that have served and are currently serving. This event will be at 11 a.m. outside Altgeld Hall.
  • Warrior’s Brunch: Directly after the Flagpole Ceremony outside, please join the Warrior’s Brunch. All are welcome to celebrate and honor those who have served. This will be at 11:45 a.m. in Altgeld Hall, Room 315.
  • Stalking: Know it. Name it. Stop it.: This training will cover topics such as sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. These topics may be triggering for some. Please use self care when attending this training and reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns about attending this training. The training will be at 2 p.m. in the Campus Life Building, Room 100.
  • Study Abroad 101: A study abroad adviser will provide a short presentation on general information about studying abroad. This will be at 3:30 p.m. in Williston Hall 417.
