DeKalb County reports 49.94% of residents are vaccinated

DeKALB — The DeKalb County Health Department announced Friday the number of positive COVID-19 cases increased to 13,011 and 52,011 county residents are fully vaccinated, 49.94% of the county population.
Among those who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus, 2,659 are younger than 19, 3,067 are in their 20s, 1,990 are in their 30s, 1,720 are in their 40s, 1,530 are in their 50s, 1,052 are in their 60s, 534 are in their 70s and 459 are 80 or older.
As of Friday, 134 people have died from the coronavirus in the county, according to the DCHD.
Statewide, there are 1.7 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 26,077 recorded deaths as of Friday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The state has fully vaccinated 7.7 million residents as of Friday, 71.3% of the state population.
