April Fools’ Day is coming up which means it’s time for jokesters and pranksters to come out and have some fun. Whether you’re the prankster or the prankee, it’s a fun day all around. Here are some harmless, fun pranks to pull off on friends, family and co-workers.

Unsolvable worksheets

If you have someone in your life who loves word searches or mazes, preferably someone younger, then a fake worksheet is the perfect prank to pull this year. It’s free, easy to print and a great last-minute prank to do the day of.

The word search will have a list of fake words but the only words that are in the search spell out “April Fools.” It could leave the prankee stumped depending on how long it takes for them to figure it out. You find a printable version of the word search here.

For the unsolvable maze, the goal is to help a bee find its duck friend, but there is no way of getting out. The person you are pranking will spend the whole time tracing a maze that has no end. You can print out the maze here.

Switching out chairs

This prank works well for those working in an office and just want to have a little fun. You can even be a little risky like Benjamin Raeside, a junior communications major, who pulled a chair prank on his bosses at work.

My coworker and I took all of their (new) seats and hid them while replacing them all with cheap plastic chairs that were much too small for their behinds,” Raeside said. “They were very mad as they were expecting them all to be there.”

If you have some extra and uncomfortable chairs around the office, feel free to switch them out and prank your coworkers.

Caramel onions

If you have a little extra time on your hands before April Fools’ Day then consider making caramel onions to give.

For this prank you will need six onions with the stems cut off, wooden craft sticks and melted caramel. Feel free to add crushed peanuts to make it really convincing.

You can find the step-by-step and full recipe here. To make up for the prank, use the same recipe but with apples this time.

Taking a visit back home

College can be stressful sometimes, sometimes so much so to the point where we want to go back home for the weekend to rest and recharge. Since April 1 falls on a Friday this year, it would be a great opportunity to visit family and bring a little fun.

That is what Kayla Taylor, a senior psychology and sociology major, will be doing to her little sister this weekend.

I want to prank my little sister and tell her I’m coming home and then wait like three hours later and say April Fools,” Taylor said.

Your family member may be upset for some time, but once they realize you’re home they will forget all about it.

Pranks don’t always have to be hardcore and well thought out, they can be easy and lighthearted. Have fun this April Fools’ Day pranksters.
