What I’m watching this weekend: Gino Hernandez
It’s the time of the year for chilly weather and freakish freights. With it being October, here are a few shows and movies that depict the beauty and horror of humanity.
“The Green Knight” (Hulu)
“The Green Knight” is an adventure, fantasy and drama movie made by A24, an entertainment company, and directed by David Lowery. The film is based on the classic poem, “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight,” by an anonymous writer called the Gawain Poet. The movie was released in 2021 and has a runtime of two hours and 10 minutes.
The film surrounds Sir Gawain, played by Dev Patel, a member of the Round Table of Knights that serves King Arthur, played by Sean Harris. Gawain encounters a Green Knight, played by Ralph Ineson, who challenges the moral code of Gawain. This story involves love, honor and the flaws of the human character.
“Ted Lasso” (Apple TV)
“Ted Lasso” is a comedy TV series produced by Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television. Jason Sudeikis, who plays Ted Lasso, Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard, Bill Lawrence and Joe Kelly created the series. The series first aired in 2020. The third season’s schedule hasn’t been announced yet.
The TV series surrounds an American football coach named Ted Lasso, who is hired to coach an English football club, AFC Richmond, and while he doesn’t know much about the game he changes the hearts of his players, his boss and even the fans.
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” (Netflix)
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” is a science-fiction and action anime TV series produced by Studio Trigger. The series is a standalone story based on the previous two installments “Cyberpunk 2077” and the roll-top game “Cyberpunk” of the “Cyberpunk” franchise. The series first aired in 2022 and consists of 10 episodes.
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” surrounds a boy named David, voiced by Zach Aguilar, who becomes an edgerunner in Night City, so that he can make a name for himself and survive the cruelties of the city. This is a story of love, grief and revenge.
