If you’re looking for something to do in DeKalb this Saturday, here are some events to consider attending.

Performing Southeast Asia

This exhibit, created in collaboration with the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, looks at the importance of performance in Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Burma, varying from popular songs to traditional dance, according to the NIU events calendar.

The gallery is free and open to the public. The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Cole Hall Room 114.

STEM Fest 2022

Attendees can celebrate science, technology, engineering and math at STEM Fest 2022.

Students may learn about weather, chemistry, electricity and biology with the help of science demo shows and interactive games. 

STEM Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, MLK Commons and Founders Memorial Library. It is free and open to the public.

Jonamac Orchard

Jonamac Orchard, 19412 Shabbona Road, Malta, has different food trucks and music every weekend. 

This weekend, Hick’s BBQ and Big D’s food trucks will be there at 11 a.m. There will be live music from The Beaux from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, according to the orchard’s website. This event is free and open to the public.

NIU School Of Theatre and Dance

Much Ado About Nothing, performed by the School of Theatre and Dance, features a plot where the ladies control the place and the males don’t set all the rules, according to the NIU events calendar

The performance will take place at 2 p.m. in the Sally Stevens Players Theatre, located in the Stevens Building. 

NIU students are free with a pre-reserved ticket and adults cost $7.

NIU Volleyball

The NIU Huskies face off against the Ball State University Cardinals. The match begins at 2 p.m. at Victor E. Court.

NIU Football

The Huskies play in Michigan this weekend against the Eastern Michigan University Eagles. 

Kickoff will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+, according to the NIU events calendar.

Whiskey Acres

Whiskey Acres has food trucks and live music every weekend.

This weekend, Cole Brandt will be performing from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Jah Love Jamaica food truck will be there from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
