According to a CNN health article, technology can help reduce stress. Technology in the form of apps can help students manage college anxiety. Not every app works for every student’s needs, but there are some apps out there that every college student can utilize.
Chegg
Chegg is a multi-service app that can be downloaded on a computer or from any app store on a smartphone or tablet.
Chegg features many study tools such as flashcards, practice tests and personalized recommendations for mastering a class. For $15.99 a month, Chegg allows users to post a homework question and receive an answer from a Chegg expert.
Plagiarism checks are also offered once a subscription is activated. Chegg organizes courses and flashcards into folders, creating a simplified, manageable space to study.
Chegg can be helpful for students who prefer studying on a device and who need a bit of extra homework help.
RescueTime
An app that can keep students motivated and focused is RescueTime.
RescueTime is a free time management software app that can be downloaded on a smartphone from the App Store and Google Play Store or on a computer. RescueTime tracks personal growth by letting users see which apps they’re using the most and for how much time they use them throughout the day. RescueTime notifies the user when the best time is for working on homework based on their work style.
The app creates day-to-day goals, such as how productive one should be, in order to strengthen the user’s focus to help create healthy work habits.
Students who get distracted easily will benefit from RescueTime’s guidance.
iHomework 2
iHomework 2 is a free organizational app that can be downloaded on an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or MacOS.
The app lets users insert their upcoming assignments and events into a calendar, preventing students from feeling the need to procrastinate. When homework is added to the app’s planner tab, iHomework 2 can set an alarm for a specific due date.
iHomework 2 groups homework into tags, making it easier for users to view what homework is overdue or what day an assignment is supposed to be submitted.
The app is beneficial in encouraging students to complete assignments in a timely fashion, which can be useful for students checking what they have to do when they’re out and about.
