DeKALB – A pair of goals scored in the NIU women’s soccer team’s 2-0 over Eastern Michigan University on Thursday earned freshman forward Amber Best the Northern Star’s Huskie of the Week honors.

Best was assisted by freshman midfielder Aubrey Robertson on NIU’s opening goal during the second minute of the match. Her second goal came shortly after the 30-minute mark of the match. Junior midfielder Claudia Muessig set Best up for another goal, a shot from 12-yard inside the far post.

Saturday’s pair of scores marked Best’s second and third career goals. Best scored her first collegiate goal – and NIU’s lone goal of the match – in a 1-1 draw with Ohio University on Oct. 6.

Best and the Huskies will wrap up their season in front of the home crowd for a match at 1 p.m. Thursday. NIU will battle with Mid-American Conference rival Bowling Green State University at the NIU Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
