The Mid-American Conference men’s basketball Preseason Coaches Poll, released Wednesday, has the Huskies projected to finish last by the end of the season.

Last season, the Huskies finished in tenth place in the MAC with a record of 9-21.14 of those losses came from their own conference.

The top three in the preseason poll are Kent State University, The University of Toledo and The University of Akron. Kent State University led the way with 135 points and six first-place votes. The University of Toledo is just behind Kent State with 131 points and four first-place votes. The University of Akron is in third with 127 points and two first-place votes.

Huskies will look to surprise the voters once they kick off their season with an exhibition game against the McKendree University Bearcats at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the Convocation Center.

Their first official game of the season is against The University of Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Convocation Center.
