Early vote rally to be held at Egyptian Theatre

Grammy award-winning musician and Illinois native Jeff Tweedy, frontman of rock band Wilco, will perform at an early vote rally on Nov. 2 at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb.

DeKALB – Congresswoman of Illinois’ 14th congressional district, Lauren Underwood, and Jeff Tweedy, a Grammy award-winning singer and guitarist from the band Wilco, will be holding an early vote rally and concert from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Egyptian Theatre.

The goal of the event is to encourage voters, specifically residents and students, to vote early. Early voting has already begun in the 14th district as of Sept. 29. The event is free to attend, but registration is required.

General admission will be admitted as space allows.

Those interested in having a guaranteed spot can attend as VIPs. To qualify as a VIP, you must be eligible for a Green Coat ticket. To qualify, attendees must register for two Help Get Out The Vote volunteer opportunities between Nov. 5 and Nov. 8.

VIP tickets must be picked up from campaign offices in Joliet, Aurora or Sycamore on Tuesday or Wednesday.
