Monday

At 1:19 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Neptune North in regard to a report of battery. The officer arrived on scene and initiated an investigation. Two individuals were referred to the Office of Community Standards and Student Conduct for battery.

At 10:57 a.m., officers observed a white Ford driving with its hazard lights on at the 100 block of W. Lincoln Highway. Officers ran the plates and learned the car’s registered owners had suspended licenses. Following a traffic stop, Cornell L. Brandon, 22, was charged with driving with a suspended license. Brandon was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:07 p.m., officers responded to 809 Edgebrook Drive to serve a warrant. Kyra Alexander, 19, was charged with the original warrant of unlawful possession of a registration sticker. Alexander was released on bond with a court date.

At 7:35 a.m., A complainant reported her grandson had battered her. Officers spoke with the complainant and then reported to the house, 908 Vienna St., to speak with the suspect. The suspect and witness fled as officers approached the house. A foot chase ensued and the suspect was captured a short distance away. Tyler J. Hyde, 20, was charged with two counts of domestic battery, possession of cannabis, resisting and criminal damage to property. Hyde was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

At 2:08 p.m., James R. Colpen, 33, learned he had a warrant for his arrest and turned himself in. Colpen was taken into custody for class A retail theft and released on bond with a court date.

At 12:28 a.m., officers observed a vehicle with expired registration traveling northbound on Annie Glidden Road. A traffic stop was conducted. A K-9 sniff was done on the car and the K-9 alerted the police to the presence of narcotics. Marcus Kimbrough, 39, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and was released on bond with a court date.

At 8:36 a.m., Chris L. Bennett, 22, turned himself in on a warrant for theft. Bennett was released on bond with a court date.
